General information about the Dornier 328-100
The Dornier 328-100 comes as a twin-engined regional airliner from the German manufacturer Dornier GmbH, which was renamed after the acquisition of Fairchild in 1996 in Fairchild-Dornier. A total of 107 Dornier 328-100 machines were produced. The first of them had its maiden flight in December 1991. Using new technology (TNT) wings, the Dornier became less draggy and more boostive, thus achieving improved performance and fuel economy. In combination with newly developed propellers, such high speeds and climb rates could be achieved. The Dornier 328-100 was the further development of the Dornier 228 and served as a model for the later aerodynamically revised version 328-110. This was already approved in October 1994.
