The Grumman G-164 Ag-Cat is a single-engine biplane agricultural aircraft designed by US developer Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation and manufacturer Schweizer Aircraft. It was the first aircraft specially developed for agricultural aviation. In addition, the G-164 was designed to meet both the increasing demand of agriculture on purpose-built aircraft and the need for diversified product lines from Grumman itself. The first flight was completed on May 27, 1957. The G-164 was produced starting in 1957 and, despite the change of production rights to Schweizer Aircraft 1980, stopped only in 1995. A total of about 3,000 machines were produced. The model line of the G-164 series includes the following variants: Ag Cat as base model, Super Ag Cat A / 450 and / 600, Super Ag Cat B / 450 and / 525, Super Ag Cat C / 600, Turbo Ag Cat D / T, / ST and / SST, Ag Cat B-Plus / 600 and / 450, Marsh G-164 CT Turbo Cat, Mid-Continent King Cat and Ethiopian Airlines Eshet.
