Eclipse Aerospace EA 500

General information about the Eclipse Aerospace

The Eclipse Aerospace is a machine of the manufacturer Eclipse Aviation. The aircraft is powered by a turbine and was designed in the United States. In the period from 2006 to 2009, 270 pieces of the Eclipse Aerospace were produced. By the intention to build a light, fast and above all economical small jet the Eclipse was designed. The aircraft is designed for private and business flights. The crew can consist of one to two people, the number of passengers varies depending on the construction between three to five people. On July 27, 2006, Eclipse Aerospace received preliminary approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The first flight took place on August 26, 2002 and the market entry followed a few years later on December 31, 2006.

History and specifications of the Eclipse Aerospace

With the construction of the machine smaller runways and airfields should be approached. With a required runway length of 715 meters and a runway length of 686 meters, the machine is a novelty. This was intended to increase the distribution and application possibilities. On November 21, 2008, Eclipse Aerospace received European EASA approval. After the bankruptcy of the company Eclipse Aviation, production ceased. In 2010, the successor company Silkorsky Aircraft resumed production, but in a modified form. Thus, the Eclipse 550 was born. From 2013, the production of this was resumed. The Eclipse Aerospace is called Very Light Jet. The manufacturer says until today that the machine was created a new class of aircraft. With the ease and affordability of the price, the producers hoped to develop a new aviation market. The Eclipse is powered by two PW610F turbines. With space for up to four passengers, the machine can be optionally equipped with a toilet, a Bordbar, or a sixth seat. In 2008, the Eclipse was awarded the lowest two-jet jet. In addition, it benefits from the, at the time, lowest fuel consumption. The span of the aircraft is 11.6 meters, the length is 12.2 meters and the height is 3.4 meters. On a long haul, the cruising speed is 528 kilometers per hour, with the maximum cruising speed at 685 kilometers per hour. The maximal service ceiling is at 12,496 meters and the range of the Eclipse Aerospace is 2,408 kilometers, plus an additional 45 minutes of reserve tank.
