General information about the Socata TBM 700
The Socata TBM 700 is a model series of the French company Socata. The business aircraft has a single turboprop and was produced from 1990 to 2006. The first flight took place on July 14, 1988, followed by market introduction in January 1990. During the production period more than 125 pieces were produced.
The Socata TBM 700 was not only developed by the company of the same name, but designed in collaboration with the American manufacturer Mooney. However, the latter withdrew from the program.
The aircraft consists mainly of conventional materials with a proportion of fiber composites. The engine was developed as a high-performance turboprop aircraft and is comparable in size and performance with twin-engine turboprops. The Socata TBM 700 is much more efficient in terms of acquisition and maintenance costs than comparable aircraft.
From the basic model, the Socata TBM 700, about 100 pieces were produced. This was followed by other models, such as the Socata TBM 700a, TBM 700b or TBM 700c, which are more luxurious.
